Cormorant Congress

I hadn’t seen this while driving on Storrow, but the separate bicycle route gets you close enough to the Charles River to notice this plastic tube at which cormorants regularly congregate. If you see a black shorebird with its wings opened for a long time, it is very likely a cormorant drying out its wings. They have to do this because their wings are not water-repellant unlike those of ducks and geese.
